Andayoma

Jazz Caribbean

B i o g r a p h y

Composer – songwriter - singer Andayoma holds a special place on Singapore jazz scene, making a distinct impression with her Creole roots and Caribbean rhythms.

Andayoma embodies an ironic, joyful and nostalgic jazz, rooted in the tangy complexity of human relationships.

From 1997 in France, her desire to sing is revived while humming soothing nursery rhymes to her newborns. As a tribute, the artist will forge her stage name Andayoma by combining the first names of her daughters.

In 1998, Andayoma lends her powerful voice to a gospel choir in Rueil-Malmaison. She builds experience and joins her first singing tours.

In 2001, Andayoma settles in Singapore and begins a cosmopolitan career. She pursues her vocal training: jazz coaching with Babes Conde and singing techniques with lyrical soprano Stella Zhou.

Simultaneously, Andayoma nurtures a growing passion for music song writing and composition. Her new life in Asia is the opportunity to step back and observe her contemporaries. More than ever, she acknowledges that jazz is the perfect medium to translate her vision of human contradictions.

Since 2003, Andayoma has appeared in numerous public and charitable concerts, featuring solo performances or appearances in festivals. She regularly performs in Singapore's most prestigious hotels.

In May 2010, "Palette of colours", her first album, is released. In this very personal creation, she expresses her own experience of love, treason, and ecstasy as a mother, a partner and a friend.

In 2011, Andayoma is on tour in Canada and Guiana, performing "Palette of Colours".

In March 2014,  Andayoma releases her second album "Shades of Love". It offers a collection of her singular Jazzattitude, rendering a mix of jazzy melodies celebrated in Creole and Caribbean rhythms pulsed in English.
